What is a church without a testament of faith?
Simply put, it is a church that values fluidity in freedom over rigidity in judgement and constraint. This is the basis of "spirituality" that the ego of religion cannot comprehend. We're OK with being OK with the fact that every faith has truth and value, and in-turn every faith has flaw. Fighting over faith is not a divine battle, it's an implementation of man and those seeking power and control. Over the span of many generations and tens of billions of people there have been countless paths taken, but in the end as Ram Das said "We're all just walking each other home".
That's not to say we don't lean in certain directions. These leanings are an effort to be better people, better stewards of our bodies, our communities, and our environment.
What about Jesus (the) Christ?
The Christ Consciousness. We believe in Jesus because we choose to accept that there was a being in human flesh that embodied this Christ Consciousness. Jesus the man (or the idea of Him) is a constant reminder that divinity resides in us all. A reminder that we all have the capacity to live as Jesus lived and love as Jesus loved.
Our faith is in the image of the divine in which we were created. The image that the story of Jesus illustrates so perfectly. Our faith is in the power that is within each of us as we are able to follow as closely to His path as we can.
Seed and Soul Ministry is a Christian church. We are believers and followers of The Christ, and the enlightened path that has been shown to us. We’re also really optimistic that Jesus, the man, the friend, the savior, the homie, the Son was as real as we are today.
and the Buddhist approach?
What doesn't sound appealing about the connection between man and nature? The connection between man and himself? The oneness of everything? Doesn't scripture effectively describe Jesus as a pretty accomplished Buddhist?
The teachings and lectures of Ram Dass follow these beliefs pretty closely and it's hard to find issue or argument with any belief that is set to strengthen that bond between each of us, and that bond that creates oneness with our surroundings; our universe.
